Description
Created in 1928 by designers Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret, the LC2 and LC3 collection offers a range of authentic furniture. Presented a year later at the Salon d'Automne in Paris, the LC2 sofa was billed as the the proud representative of modern «household equipment». Today, it and the other LC models are considered iconic pieces of design around the world.
As regards its construction, the LC2 armchair is characterized by the independence of its metal structure and its 4 cushions simply put down: the seat base, the backrest and the armrests. This principle of assembly, dictated by the rationalism of the time, aims in part to facilitate its production on an industrial scale. As for the very square shape of the armchair, this is subtly set off by the tubular steel parts that surround it.
Now an iconic piece, this timeless furniture looks great in high-end spaces: CEO’s office, VIP lounge, waiting area or top-scale showroom. In armchair or sofa format, each member of the LC family is a high-quality cult object.
Designed by Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret.
Edited by Cassina.
Chromium-plated steel frame – Expanded polyurethane foam upholstery.
Leather upholstery.
